And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)

Thank you so much for your interest in joining Oakwood! Here is how you start the process of becoming a member at Oakwood Baptist Church:

You may let us know during any regular worship service in any of the following ways:

1 - By a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord and t agree to be baptized according to the policies of this church (joining by baptism).
2 - By promise of a letter of recommendation from another Southern Baptist Church.
3 - By statement of prior conversion experience and baptism, according to the policies of this church, when no letter is obtainable.

Prior to being presented for membership, each candidate must attend the New Members class. In this class you will learn about Oakwood's mission and vision, and what it means to be a member of OBC. After attending the New Members class, you will meet with our Senior Pastor and one of our Deacons. The purpose is for them to learn about your testimony, and for you to ask any questions you may have about Oakwood. The final step is bringing the membership recommendation before the church during the business meeting and bring to a vote.

For more details, please call the office to schedule an appointment with the Pastor and Deacons.
