John 4:4 "And He needed to go through Samaria"
Christ knew that there was a woman there who needed Him, and He was willing to go there for her. You understand now that a good Jew did not ever go through this part of the territory. He would go all the way around but never put one foot in Samaria. Yet Jesus was ready and willing to meet her needs. Are there homes that you won't "put a foot into"? I hope not. As a child and teen my parents picked up these children each Sunday for service. No one else would to go their house for them. I remember my Mama buying clothes each Saturday to have for the children to put on when we picked them up. Most of the time they wore them all week. They didn't have the privilege of growing up in a fine home, but they had the right to hear about Jesus! My parents saw to that. I have taken care of some patients in the hospital who were not all fine and dandy. One was a field worker who came in for emergency surgery. She was too weak to get up to take a bath before surgery, but I would not allow her to go to the O.R. dirty! It took four changes of the bath water in the basins before I got her clean, but she was clean! I gave her a toothbrush ready to brush her teeth, she smiled and said "I ain't got but two!" I said "Praise the Lord for those two - brush them." Shad had dried mud between her toes, but as I soaked her feet in the basin of warm water, I could tell her feet were just like mine. We all need cleaning. Her little children loved her as much as mine loved me. She just needed help, and God sent her to me. I surely did my part that night. Do you sometimes feel God sends you on a mission that is impossible to complete? It would be without His divine help. Just trust Him and follow Him through any Samaria where He directs you.
